Sports and Fitness
ADAPTIVE PADDLE BOARDING
Using the Onit Ability Paddle Board, our certified
adaptive paddling instructor will help special
needs individuals enjoy this fun water activity.
The board accommodates a wheelchair for
those who are paraplegic, amputees, or have
other disabilities. For available dates and
minimum requirements to participate in the
program, contact the instructor directly at
RoswellGAP@gmail.com or call 770-722-3972.
Sessions are 60 minutes long and fees are per
session. Ages 10+.
ADAPTIVE YOGA
Instructor Connie Richardson will focus on
building strength, flexibility, and balance.
Participants will develop skills to manage
stress, improve focus, and increase body
awareness. Using a combination of breathing
practices, physical postures, relaxation
techniques, and mantra or singing, participants
will discover ways to support their strengths
and unique abilities. Appropriate for participants
with Down syndrome, autism, ADHD, other
learning and developmental disabilities. Parents
and caregivers are encouraged to participate.
Ages 12+.
ADAPTIVE TENNIS
Participants will learn a variety of basic
tennis skills and strokes, including forehand,
backhand, serves, and more. Party held on the
last day of class. No experience necessary.
Taught by Special Pop Tennis. Ages 18+.
ADAPTIVE SOCCER
Designed to teach the skills of soccer to
children and teens with varying ability levels.
This program will focus on developing fitness
and self-esteem, as well as create friendships
through the joy of non-competitive sports
games. Each session will be guided by staff and
volunteers and will consist of various games
and activities, each adapted to the needs of the
individuals in attendance. Ages 5-17.
